GCSE Doctor – Payment Terms

These payment terms apply to all students enrolling in GCSE Doctor tutoring services. By making a booking and payment, you agree to the terms outlined below.

Initial Booking & Payment

  • First Lesson Fee: A £20 payment for group lessons, or a £40 payment for 1-to-1 lessons is required to secure your booking and reserve your lesson slot.
  • Payment Method: All payments are securely processed via Stripe through our booking system. We do not store any card details directly.
  • Booking Confirmation: Your booking is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.
  • No Cancellation Policy: The initial lesson fee is non-refundable and non-cancellable once payment is made.

Ongoing Lessons

  • Reserved Weekly Slot: After your first lesson, if you decide to continue, your child will be given a dedicated weekly time slot in a small group. This time is held for your child each week.
  • Monthly Booking: Lessons are booked and paid for in monthly blocks, securing your place for all sessions that month.
  • Consistent Commitment: By reserving a slot, you're committing to the full month — not individual weeks. This helps us run small, consistent groups and ensures fairness to all students.
If your child can’t attend a session, we’ll still provide the lesson recording, homework, and resources so they can catch up in their own time.
  • No Drop-In Option: We do not offer a pay-as-you-go or flexible attendance model. Letting us know in advance about an absence does not reduce the fee for that month.
  • Monthly Invoices: You’ll receive an invoice at the start of each month. Payment is due in advance by the date listed to keep your space.
  • No Automatic Charging: We don’t charge your card automatically — you choose whether to continue each month.

Continuing or Stopping Lessons

  • Monthly Flexibility: You can choose to discontinue at any point by informing us before the next invoice is due.
  • No Cancellation Fees: There are no additional charges for choosing not to continue with future months.

Late Payment

  • Lesson Access: Access to lessons will be paused if an invoice remains unpaid after the due date.
  • Account Suspension: Failure to pay may result in temporary suspension of lesson access until payment is received.
  • Communication: We will always attempt to contact you promptly about any overdue payments to avoid disruption.

Refund Policy

If we need to cancel a session (e.g. due to tutor illness), the session will either be rescheduled or a credit will be applied to the next invoice.
  • Initial Lesson: The payment for the first lesson is non-refundable once processed.
  • Monthly Payments: Monthly fees are non-refundable once the invoice period has begun.
  • Exceptional Circumstances: Refunds may be issued at the sole discretion of GCSE Doctor in rare and exceptional cases.
